Jim Lassiter

Food Service Manager

Location: Columbia

Jim has spent his entire career in foodservice. Jim’s first taste of commercial kitchens was as a dishwasher/cook in a Chinese Restaurant in his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Inspired, he went on to pursue a successful Culinary Career.

Jim’s career has been accented by working with very capable (and patient) chefs along the Eastern Seaboard, working with large healthcare facilities, international foodservice contract companies, hotels, restaurants and catering.  These career experiences introduced Jim to a wide range of systems and people.

A former Certified Executive Chef awarded by the American Culinary Federation, Jim has participated and judged in sanctioned competitions, has won a national recipe contest and published by Tyson Foods to name a few accomplishments.

Jim has an Associate of Culinary Science degree from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration from the University of South Carolina; “Spurs Up!”

“People ask me if I am enthusiastic about cooking and my response is always yes. But cooking is only a part of the reason I have made a career in the industry. Helping others, passing on the knowledge and truly serving others is the passion.”

Jim has a wonderful wife, Cynthia, of over 30 years and together raised three terrific boys, Michael, Matthew, and Mason. Jim has always loved outdoor activities and all sports.
