I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I attended the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!) where I received my Bachelors in Hospitality Management. I was lucky enough to work through college with Elizabeth Heiskell of Elizabeth Heiskell Catering, also the executive chef of Viking for over 25 years now. She introduced me to the world of catering and the amazing experiences we create for clients and I never looked back.
After graduating from Ole Miss and moving back to Atlanta, I found myself working with one of the best catering companies in the metro Atlanta area, Dennis Dean, a Catering Company. Over my 5 years there, I learned the ins and outs of social, corporate and off premise catering. I found a passion for paying attention to small details and how important they are.
In the spring of 2019, my husband and I decided to start a new path for ourselves and landed in Columbia, SC for his career. I started with Southern Way Catering in October 2019 and was thrilled to find like-minded professionals who are passionate about providing exceptional food along with incredible service and southern hospitality.
My favorite type of event would have to be an intimate plated dinner of 100 guests or less. When each course is paired with an appropriate wine is the cherry on top for me. I strive for small details a client planned to get noticed! Creating custom menus or using a family recipe on a wedding day to share with our client’s favorite people is also really special to me.
When I am not working, you can find me exploring Columbia or sneaking away to Pawleys Island with my husband, Peter, our 3 beautiful children and our energetic loving brittany spaniel, River.
