I was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina and attended the University of South Carolina culinary program. I started at a Country Club where I worked up from the bottom doing banquets and a la carte restaurant service in the dining rooms. I saw an opportunity for growth with Southern Way Catering and joined their team as a Sous Chef in 2015. I have now been the Executive chef of the company since 2017.
Here at Southern Way, there is something new every day and we are constantly changing and improving. My first event was in the middle of a corn field, from there I was hooked. I love watching people smile after they eat one of our creations and getting people together around food. As Executive Chef I have the opportunity to teach inexperienced
As Executive Chef I have the opportunity to teach inexperienced cooks new techniques and recipes and get to convince people to love food that they aren’t familiar with. I love new challenging events that push our company to prove we are better than the rest and can do things no other company can.
Southern Way Catering has taught me patience and humility. I have learned that teamwork and relying on others is paramount to our success. As much as I appreciate everything Southern Way has given me, I’ll have to say introducing me to my wife has been the most special of all.
When I’m not working, I really like to eat at restaurants to get new ideas and see different techniques. I also enjoy hunting, cooking at home, and playing with my daughters. Watching them grow up is so much fun!!
