I grew up in Texas, and moved to South Carolina later in life, where I eventually started my own catering company. I studied Culinary Arts at the University of South Carolina, and then Nutrition at the University of Florida. I was able to spend some time working at Southern Way Catering during my time in South Carolina working in different aspects of the company prior to my departure to Atlanta to get more experience in the culinary field. I hold an American Culinary Federation Certification as a Personal Certified Executive Chef.
There is never a dull moment working in catering. From weddings to corporate events there is always such a variety in what you can encounter each day. I really enjoy wearing a lot of hats, so selling, building client relations and supervising events always keeps me on my toes. Though we see a lot of different types of events at the Pastides Alumni Center, any type of corporate business function event is sure to be a favorite of mine!
I have several things I can denote about working on the Southern Way Catering team. You hear it all the time, but it is truly like being part of a big family, and it is shown daily by the way we treat each other with care and respect. Southern Way sets a standard in the South Carolina hospitality market, and it is such a privilege to be a part of a team that ensures a great catering and event experience for each and every client.
When I am not working, I enjoy hiking and traveling. If I get some downtime from work you can find me at home snuggled up with my 17 lb. cat, Dottie!
