Kitchen Inventory Control Associate

DESCRIPTION:

Reports to: Michael Stuckey (Executive Chef) and/or Patrick Weller (Chef De Cuisine)

Description:  This full time position will assist in maintaining an accurate record of inventory and assist in preventing and resolving inventory discrepancies.

Company Expectations:  Southern Way Catering expects this individual to successfully execute all duties and responsibilities asked of him/her.

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Promote a safe work environment through personal actions
  • Identify and report on any safety concerns
  • Conduct daily inventory counts
  • Stock products
  • Check product quality
  • Keep coolers/freezers organized
  • Communicate count results to management as needed
  • Identify missing product, adjust inventory quantities (as needed), handle damaged inventory, disposing of inventory
  • Other inventory related duties as requested

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to wake up early, arrive on time and stay late (as needed)

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Full Time Cook

DESCRIPTION:

Reports to: Michael Stuckey (Executive Chef) and/or Patrick Weller (Chef De Cuisine)

Description:   This position includes but is not limited to helping run the day-to-day Kitchen operations.  This person should ensure that appropriate sanitation rules are followed, and this should include: DHEC and more importantly quality of product.

Cooks will have a schedule that is flexible in relation to the volume and timing of events to produce and should expect to have varying hours as event schedules demand. Weekly schedule will be managed by your supervisor, Michael Stuckey.

Company Expectations:  Southern Way Catering expects this individual to successfully help execute events and daily deliveries.  This person should have the ability to effectively interface with others.

Key Responsibilities to Include:

  • Follow recipes and execute preparation lists and cook plans as directed
  • Clean and maintain food areas and cooking surfaces, during and after preparation
  • All prep must be completed before staff leaves work for the day, unless other instructions are communicated by management
  • Working parties as needed/scheduled by your supervisor
  • Helping party Captain’s locate food, etc.…
  • Practice safe handling of food and equipment

Part Time Event Cook

Description:   This person should ensure that appropriate sanitation rules are followed, and this should include: DHEC and more importantly quality of product.

Part time Event Cooks will have a schedule that is flexible in relation to the volume and timing of events to produce and should expect to have varying hours as event schedules demand. Weekly schedule will be managed by your supervisor, Michael Stuckey and will be sent to your email by the scheduling coordinator Tarrin Knight.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to:

  • Keeping Food & Beverage Stations Full and Clean
  • Set up and break down Food Stations
  • Picking Up Trash and Keeping the Tables and Venue as Clean as Possible
  • Perform side work by helping to provide a safe and clean work environment.
  • Dress and appearance are consistent with SWC standards.
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance.
  • Any other duties requested by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Hospitality and/or food service experience
  • Must be able to read and understand simple instructions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Available to work nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for a significant amount of time throughout the event.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold, non-air-conditioned environments.
  • Must be able to regularly & repetitively bend, carry, climb, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, and twist.
