Venue Spotlight: Wavering Place Plantation

With Fall right around the corner, we can’t help get excited for the hustle and bustle of the pending season. Cool afternoons, colorful leaves and incredible weddings will be right at our finger tips. Last month, we highlighted one of our favorite venues, Adams Pond (if you missed it, check it out here). This August, we’re highlighting a family-owned venue with tremendous history and southern charm: Wavering Place Plantation.

You will transcend time at Wavering Place Plantation, which offers an idyllic backdrop for your special occasion paired with an award winning historic B&B country getaway just minutes from downtown Columbia. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Wavering Place is an authentic southern experience unlike any other in South Carolina.

Venue spotlight: Adams Pond

One of the first things our couples tell us they’ve booked is their venue. A venue sets the mood and style for the entire wedding. Are you drawn towards the rustic look? An outdoor venue or farm is a great start. Looking for an elegant, glamorous wedding? An upscale hotel, museum or art gallery could be the perfect option for you. Over the next few months, we’ll be highlighting several venues around the Columbia area to give you a glimpse into the design and food set up that they’re capable of.

A Heart for Charity

Celebrating a good cause, especially in our backyard, is one of our favorite things. In late February, we had the honor of catering the 2016 Midlands Heart Ball at the incredible South Carolina State Museum. Guests celebrated the lives saved and improved due to the Heart Ball campaign raising over $51 million nationwide as they mingled over passed Ahi Tuna Nachos and Tomato Pie Tarts and enjoyed a meal of Braised Short Ribs, Seared Scallops and complimentary sides including a Mixed Green Salad and White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes at their tables. The night concluded with delicious bites of Blueberry Lavender Mousse, Dark Chocolate Tarts, Macarons and Petit Fors so guests could end on a sweet note! For more information on this wonderful cause, visit South Carolina’s American Heart Association page.
